My beloved Team Queen B,
It has been a hectic, inspiring, glamorous past couple of weeks. Some of my colleagues and I performed in the Undergraduate Opera Scenes. It was a tremendous success.
I also managed to pull off My Marvelous Monday with the lovely pianista CP and a new collaborator as well.
The recording can be found on my YouTube. Please listen at your leisure!
These rudimentary recordings will not be around forever…
Soon I will be live in HD singing in the fanciest of venues.
I am incredibly humbled to report it was a full evening with lots of laughter, gorgeous gowns, confessions, pink, thunderous applause, beautiful flowers, cookies, pure delight, and so much to be grateful for.
Including members of Team Queen B spanning generations! What an inspiring facet of the party!
I hope I can be even half as graceful and beautiful as these ladies when I reach their age.
One vintage-loving member even gave up one of her cherished crowns. That’s right, Queen B is moving up in the world! From tiaras to crowns!
I have even more exciting news to share…
The blog is going international!
That is right. I received a Fulbright award to be an English Teaching Assistant in Berlin next year.
Yes, it is a pretty big deal.
My goals for the future include continuing the exponential growth of my maturing voice with a new badass teacher while traveling Europe and learning all that I can from all the new people I meet.
It is going to be one chaotic transition, but I know that is how we grow best in our youth, so I am going to trust the process.
My biggest send off to this chapter of my life is to always trust yourself, even if you do not know how it will turn out in the end.
Live a life in pursuit of your most authentic self.
I bring us back to my very first post, almost four years ago.
If you know what makes you feel the most you and you find the things that bring it out in you, why would you not pursue that?
Heed my words, people!
I am going to keep living by exactly that and figure it out as I go along. You may never know what opportunities next await you.
Here is to a Summer of beach and sunshine before my Ferragamos and I experience our first north German winter. Brrrr.
Look out, world. This prima donna has just begun.
XOXO,
Bentley
I hope you have fun in Berlin!!! I’m so excited for you. We’ll have to catch up soon. Miss you!!
Beautiful! Almost makes me sad about my retirement. Onward and upward!
