The best time of year is here!

Summer!!! As According to the PD’s sister, Summer is the first day of June. On the stylist’s perspective, the first day of Summer is as exciting as getting dressed for a night at the opera. The bittersweetness lies in how quickly it flies by.

How is it July already? That much, I can hardly comprehend. I will say, I am beginning to appreciate the slow life much more. For a while there, my neurotic side had a tough time accepting a chill way of being.

It makes a lot of sense. My usual self is constantly moving, planning outfits, rehearsing, rearranging my tiara collection, singing, practicing, reading, inspiring, and most importantly, getting 10 hours of sleep per night. That is right. A great many people do not believe me when I tell them it is merely one of my necessary requirements. Perfection comes at a cost, people.

Anyway, here at the beach, I simply wake up and enjoy the finer things of life. Reading and journaling, watching the sunrise, riding my bike to get a cup of coffee.

And a LOT of time at the beach!

After I made a stop into NYC a few weeks ago, my darling friend just knew she needed a taste of the slow life, too. The city sure moves fast. It is such a whirlwind, but I bet it seems a lot different when you actually live there.

I managed to wrangle the city girl for a spell! She came down to visit me and my other residing, hardest-working-EVER dear friend!

Just a minor weekend affair, but it definitely reminded me how much I love driving in the summer sun with the ocean in my sights.

The adjustment included deep breathing and reminding myself that a prima donna’s work is never fully complete without much rest and relaxation. How else would we grow to enjoy the hustle and bustle as much as the downtime?

It is when our nervous system slows down and we are reunited with our truest self.

How about the slowly ambling puffs in the sky with the sound of waves crashing? That is my favorite. And a soft breeze.

And the second most important thing to our solitude… our company!

Oh, yes. This prima donna sure knows how to take it slow with friends in tow.

XOXO
